Scouting and Youth Religious Organizations

Adventure, Faith, and Service Await

Build a fire beneath towering oaks, paddle the waters of nearby Lake Nockamixon, and trek the woodland trails—Tohi is where young people come to adventure, grow in community, and encounter God in His creation. Our property has a long history of welcoming scouting troops and youth religious groups, and we continue that tradition today with a focus on service, stewardship, discipleship, and faith-filled adventure.

For Scouts & Venture Crews

  • Camping & Outdoor Skills
Our wooded property is ideal for troop campouts, patrol challenges, and high-adventure style weekends. Pitch tents under the oaks, cook meals over the fire, and strengthen teamwork in the outdoors.

  • Safety and Youth Protection: Separate Sleeping & Bathroom Accommodations

Here at Tohi, we make sure that youth programs have the option to separate boys and girls with distinct sleeping areas and bathroom facilities during overnight trips. This ensures privacy, safety, and adherence to youth protection guidelines, as well as peace of mind for visiting adults and chaperones!

  • Service Projects
We maintain a list of meaningful service projects perfect for scouts pursuing Eagle, Summit, or Gold Award recognition.

  • Discounted Group Rates
We offer special pricing for scouting groups, with additional discounts for troops that engage in service projects during their stay. Weekend service projects could include anything from trail restoration & maintenance to invasive species removal or even campground improvements and clean-up. By completing service projects at Tohi, scouts make a lasting impact on a natural property that continues to serve our community.

  • Prime Location for Adventure
With hiking trails and close proximity to Lake Nockamixon, troops can easily plan side trips for hiking, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The combination of our private woodland retreat and adjacent state park and state game land makes for a memorable outing.

Program Ideas for Units

  • Weekend campout with a service project or host-facilitated nature hike

  • Merit badge Weekend

  • Patrol cooking competition and campfire fellowship

  • Mountain biking, day-hiking, or kayaking at Lake Nockamixon

  • Eagle, Summit, or Gold Award service weekends

At Tohi, scouts not only practice the skills of the Scouting program—they live them in a setting designed for growth, leadership, and adventure.

For Youth Religious Groups

We believe that stepping away from daily life and into the beauty of God’s creation is one of the most powerful ways young people can grow in their faith. Tohi Woodlands provides a peaceful, natural setting for Catholic youth groups and other Christian organizations to gather for retreats, reflection, and renewal. Surrounded by woodland trails and open skies, youth have the opportunity to experience God in His creation and in one another.

Why Choose Tohi for Your Retreat?

  • Faith-Centered Environment
Our mission is rooted in the belief that time outdoors strengthens both character and faith. We encourage groups to use the woods as a classroom for prayer, reflection, and encountering Christ through creation.

  • Outdoor Gathering Spaces
Our forest clearings and campfire areas make for powerful small-group discussions, prayer circles, and fellowship after a long day on the trails. There are also two large meadows on property to allow for ample outdoor youth programming.

  • Indoor Facilitation Space
Hearthwood Hall is available for rent if your group is in need of a large indoor facilitation space: ideal for prayer, workshops, and communal meals. Hearthwood Hall gives groups the flexibility to balance time outdoors with structured indoor programming. [Please note that there is no overnight lodging permitted in the Hall.]

  • Flexible Retreat Options

What do you have in mind? Let’s make it happen…

    • Weekend camping retreats for youth groups

    • Leadership retreats for young adult ministries

    • Day-long or overnight spiritual formation events

    • Space to blend outdoor adventure with faith-based programming

  • Faith in Action: Service Opportunities
Youth can live out the Gospel through acts of stewardship on the land. Service projects—such as trail restoration, camp clean-up, or habitat care—help participants strengthen their faith by serving together and leaving a lasting mark.

  • Discounted Group Rates
We understand the financial realities of youth ministry and offer discounted rates for groups, especially those participating in service projects during their retreat.
